It also features "This Final Ride," written after the events of 9-11-01 and dedicated to all firefighters and "The Big Kitchen," the famous San Diego diner in Golden Hill owned by Judy Foreman (Judy the beauty on duty), where once upon a time, Whoopie Goldberg washed the dishes...

Across the White Plains - CD

An eclectic collection of songs, this CD showcases Johnson's storytelling, including her most requested ballad, "Tanzania," as well as the title track, "Across the White Plains," written for antarctic explorer Ann Bancroft.

Backed by world-class guitarist Peter Sprague, drummer Duncan Moore, dobro-bluesman Robin Henkel, bassist Kevin Hennessy, harp-man Paco Shipp and vocalist Peggy Watson, among others.

It was also the "birthplace" of her recording of "Amazing Grace," a multi-layered arrangement of harmonica, accapella singing, piano and dobro.

Away in a Manger - CD

It's not just for Christmas anymore. Seems there's a passel of buyers in Canada who started dowloading this CD in March...perhaps they're still celebrating!

These are the Christmas songs dlj grew up with, but the first cut is a dlj original, "Do You Hear the Mother." Two instrumentals round out the CD, with a beautiful arrangement of "Lo, How a Rose E're Blooming," played by Peter Sprague and Dennis Caplinger, and the final cut, an original arrangement of "Silent Night," by pianist Barnaby Finch. This last song is worth the price of admission alone.

Real Women, Real Beauty - CD

Commissioned by the Real Women Project, the title track, "The Beauty that You've Always Been," was written specifically about the theme of body image. (www.realwomenproject.com) The CD of four songs includes "A Mountain We Will Climb," written for breast cancer survivor Laura Evans who founded the Expedition Inspiration Fund for Breast Cancer Research after she led a team of breast cancer survivors to the top of Mt. Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the western hemisphere.
